About Life Christian Academy

Life Christian Academy, starting its eighth year, began as a small church school, but has grown at a record pace each year of its existence. The majority of its students do not attend the founding church (Life Christian Center International) but come from different churches and denominations in Albany, Lee County, Worth County, Mitchell County and Terrell County. The growth of the school is attributed to the fact that it was founded as a school for Christian children. Students are not accepted at LCA unless they have a regularly attended Christian church home. Christian values taught at the student’s home church are reinforced at school through daily devotions, pledges to the flag, and Bible classes.

LCA is a fully-accredited school, with certified teachers, and offers classes for K-4 through 12th Grade.  The Abeka and Bob Jones curriculum is taught in all grades and includes Bible, mathematics, reading, vocabulary, spelling, social studies, science, biology, chemistry, literature, and Spanish.

Life Christian Academy is also an approved testing site for the PSAT, administered to high school students in preparation for the SAT. Students from all area schools may take the PSAT by registering with LCA.

As the school continues to grow, additional activities and programs are added to and improved on. Recent improvements include added capabilities to the library and computer lab.

Life Christian Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color or national/ethnic origin in its hiring practices, admission policies, administration of its educational policies, scholarship programs, athletic programs, and other school-administered programs.

LCA Mission and Vision

Life Christian Academy Mission Statement
"Instilling a love for God that results in a life of Faith and Godly character; which will create a true desire for learning.  To come out from among them and be separated to God, thereby, being equipped by the Holy Spirit to reach the whole world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ."
Life Christian Academy Vision

Life Christian Academy at Palmyra will continue to offer programs dedicated to promoting a safe environment for Christian children.  Our vision is to rescue, protect, and nourish.

LCA History

Life Christian Academy at Palmyra was founded in 2001 as a ministry of Life Christian Center International.  In 2002 the school occupied the building which was formerly Palmyra Elementary School and the words "at Palmyra" were added to our name.

LCA Location

Our school is located one block west of Slappey Blvd. at 1225 Fourth Avenue, Albany, Georgia.

LCA Facilities

Our campus consists of approximately 27,000 sq. ft. of floor space on approximately 4 acres.  The school currently uses the 4,000 sq. ft. sanctuary of the church as an auditorium.  Plans for a new gymnasium are on the drawing board.

LCA Student Profile

LCA is clearly an area school, with student from at least six surrounding counties attending.  Less than one-half of the students are represented by families who are members of LCCI - the balance represent families from many different denominations and churches in the area.  LCA challenges students academically while supporting values consistent with Christianity.

LCA Student/Teacher Ratio

LCA is committed to successfully guiding our students through their spiritual and academic experience.  Part of our commitment is maintaining a low student/teacher ratio.

LCA Teachers

The life-blood of our ministry to our students is the teaching staff.  LCA believes that teaching is a calling and not a learned skill. All teachers meet the qualifications required by Georgia Accrediting Commission. Often our teachers begin the ministry at LCA while working to complete their educational level required.

LCA Curriculum

Currently LCA uses the ABeka  and Bob Jones curriculum throughout the school.  If any curriculum changes should be made, another Christian curriculum would be chosen.

LCA Uniforms

A uniform requirement with ample choices enables each student to better focus on his or her individual achievement.

LCA Discipline

At Life Christian Academy, we believe in and maintain orderliness and structure in the classroom and in the hallways.  We strive to provide clear guidelines to the students in a loving environment as well as keep parents informed on all matters of correction.
